Update: 2013 Ohio SPJ Awards accepting entries
Ohio’s Best Journalism 2013 contest is now accepting entries.
The competition, presented collaboratively by the Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland pro chapters of The Society of Professional Journalists, honors print, broadcast, online, trade and college journalists in Ohio for their best work during 2012.
This year’s contest utilizes an online entry platform. Entrants simply register at the contest site where they will be able to submit and manage entries, including paying for them online. For those who prefer to pay by check, that is still an option.
All entries must be received by April 14 April 26 at noon 4 p.m.
This is the only Ohio competition that honors journalists who fulfill the SPJ mission: defense of the First Amendment, support of literacy, resistance to censorship, advocacy for openness of public records and meetings, media self-criticism and community service.
This program also recognizes the best college daily and weekly newspapers, and awards up to $2,000 in scholarships for excellent college journalistic writing in news, feature, sports and opinion.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Columbus later this year.
