Mindset Digital co-founders to lead chapter training session June 27
Mindset Digital co-founders Debra Jasper and Betsy Hubbard will lead the annual chapter training session June 27.
“New Realities: The Three Major Shifts Today’s Journalists Can’t Afford to Ignore” will lead you through the rapidly changing landscape of digital media, getting you up to speed not just on the new tools but the new approaches you need to capture today’s hyper-distracted audience. It also illustrates how journalists and other professionals are taking full advantage of platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, mobile and more. In addition, it examines crisis communications, the changing role of public relations and the new expectations in a world of mass personalization.
Jasper and Hubbard have provided training and consulting for nearly 9,000 people and a wide range of organizations. This year, as the national keynote speakers for KeyBank, they are giving talks to thousands of business owners from Florida to Alaska.
Before launching Mindset Digital, Debra and Betsy spent seven years leading the Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism at Ohio State, where in 2010 they launched the first social-media fellowship for journalists in the country and worked with reporters from CNN, Los Angeles Times, 60 Minutes, Washington Post and other top newsrooms.
The session is scheduled for 6:30-9 p.m. at the Columbus Dispatch, 34 S. Third St. in Columbus. It is free for chapter members; $10 for non-members. Seating is limited, so register early at: http://2012training.eventbrite.com/
