2012 board of directors ballot
This is extremely short notice, but we need your help to wrap up a bit of housekeeping before next week’s Founders Day event. We’re asking all chapter members in good standing to download the pdf ballot, print it, vote and return it by the end of the week in order to ratify the board’s new slate of directors.
The slate of directors for the three-year term ending in 2015 include:
- Doug Haddix: director of the Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Reporting at Ohio State University since October 2011. Doug has also been training director for Investigative Reporters and Editors and was projects editor at the Columbus Dispatch for 10 years. This will be Doug’s first term on the board.
- Kevin Kemper: a public relations professional at SBC Advertising in Columbus. Prior to working in public relations, Kevin worked for 12 years as a journalist at a variety of community and business newspapers, including eight years at Columbus Business First. This will be Kevin’s second full term on the board. He was chapter president in 2009-2010.
- Liz Lane: a special projects producer at WSYX-TV6 overseeing the I-Team, major event coverage, elections and other special coverage. She has also worked at WCMH NBC-4 News as managing editor and producer and at WBNS-TV10 as executive producer of the station’s investigative unit. This will be her first term on the board.
- Jennifer Monnin: Associate Vice President of Communications for Nationwide Financial. She earned a degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University in 1992 and started her career as a reporter for the Johnstown Independent. She joined Nationwide Insurance and has held roles in Corporate Communications, Marketing and Government Relations. This will be her third full term on the board.
- Sharon West: who has been active in journalism since 1974, first as a reporter and now as a professor in the Public Affairs Journalism program in the School of Communication at Ohio State University. She will officially retire July 1. This will be her second full term on the board.
Ballots will be tallied at Monday’s board meeting.
