Kraft appointed to chapter board of directors
Nicole Kraft, a multimedia professor at Ohio State University, has been appointed to the chapter’s board of directors to replace departed director Meredith Heagney.
The board approved Kraft’s appointment Wednesday via an online vote. She will serve the remainder of Heagney’s term, which expires in 2013.
Kraft joined Ohio State full time in the Autumn 2010 quarter after serving six years as an adjunct professor of magazine writing.
She has worked for the United States Trotting Association as executive editor of Hoof Beats magazine and director of communications. She also was a newspaper editor and reporter in Philadelphia and the Napa Valley of California, and served as press secretary for Pennsylvania Congressman Jon D. Fox. She also worked in publicity for the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team and Domain Chandon Winery.
In addition to her classes, Kraft is an active freelance magazine writer, contributing to publications across North America, and speaks frequently before groups on feature writing, magazine publishing, social media tools and their use in personal branding.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Temple University and a master’s degree in communication (with a focus on journalism) from Ohio State University.
