Faith and Facts: A Look at Religion Coverage in the Media

Please join us for dinner and a roundtable discussion of the mediaâ€™s coverage of religion. WOSU Open Line Host Fred Andrle will moderate what is sure to be a lively discussion.

How has mainstream media been covering religious issues locally? Has the coverage been fair and informed? Is there enough coverage?
Do religious papers do a better job of covering religious issues? Or are the publications sometimes too close to issues because of their relationship with the church?
With buyouts, layoffs and other challenges in the media industry, how is religion coverage fairing in newsrooms? Where does it fall on the priority list?
What stories are we missing? What should we be covering? How do we take covering religion beyond holidays? With the diverse religious communities in Columbus is anyone getting left out?
